The 2016 racing season was an exciting one for MSU Baja! This season's competitions were held in Tennessee, California, and New York. At each competition, the team finished 22nd, 29th, and 51st overall, respectively. At Baja SAE Tennessee Tech, the team earned the opportunity to participate in Design Finals by finishing 5th place in the Design Judging event! It was very exciting to couple Design Finals with a 10th place finish in the Endurance race! This was a landmark achievement for us. In California, the team had a solid finish of 35th in Endurance and a notable finish of 19th in the Suspension and Traction event. Unfortunately, in Rochester, a the car sustained significant gearbox damage midway through the Endurance race. Despite valiant repair efforts, the car was determined to be irreparable on site. At the same competition, however, the team again achieved a respectable Suspension event finish of 16th place.
On the whole, the team is proud of this year's achievements, and we are excited to innovate and improve upon this season's design in the upcoming year!
